Our Terms and Conditions

At Airship Initiatives Ltd - trading as Zeppelin Tours - we take our obligations very seriously. These booking conditions seek to explain as clearly as possible the responsibility between us and you when you make and we accept your booking.

Conduct and indemnity

All customers are expected to behave with consideration towards their fellow travellers. In the event of any client behaving in such a way as to cause offence, damage or danger to others, we reserve the right to terminate that person's tour arrangements. If this happens to you, our responsibility for your Zeppelin Tour will cease immediately and we shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by you as a result. If your actions or those of any member of your party, cause damage to accommodation, vehicles, trains or aircraft in which you are travelling, or cause delay or diversion to any means of transportation, you agree to fully indemnify us against any claim (including legal costs) made against you by any party.

Safety is our paramount consideration and you must obey all requests and instructions issued by any of our representatives, or those of our suppliers, and take particular care to abide by any safety instructions.

We, or any of our service providers, may refuse to carry you or your baggage if we believe one or more of the following have occurred or if we/they reasonably believe may occur:Such action is necessary to comply with any applicable laws or regulations or orders. The carriage of your baggage may endanger or affect the safety, health or materially affect the comfort of other passengers or crew.Your mental or physical state, including impairment from alcohol and/or drugs, presents a hazard or risk to yourself or others, or to property. You have refused to submit to security checks. You have not paid the applicable fare, taxes, fees or charges. You do not appear to have valid travel documents. You present a ticket or voucher which has been acquired unlawfully, or has been reported lost or stolen, or is a counterfeit. You fail to observe all instructions with respect to safety or security.

Travel insurance
You are responsible for your own travel insurance. You must supply us with the name, address, policy number and details of the emergency medical/repatriation telephone number with your booking, or within 14 days.

It is assumed that you have taken out adequate insurance cover in the event of you or any of your party suffering illness, injury or death. If you or any member of your party suffers illness, injury or death through misadventure during your tour, arising out of activity that is not part of the tour we may, at our absolute discretion if appropriate, offer assistance to you. This may include advice or guidance where appropriate.

Health matters and disabilities
General health regulations and advice may change from time to time. While we will do our best to advise you we recommend a copy of the leaflet 'Health Advice to Traveller' issued by the Department of Health, or consult your GP. You are responsible for obtaining the necessary inoculations or vaccinations and any other precautions for travel to the relevant foreign country. If you are in any doubt as to your fitness to travel you should consult your GP and failure to do so may invalidate your travel insurance.

We are not qualified to express an opinion concerning your fitness to fly in the airship or to participate in our tours, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit enough to take part. If you are in any doubt you should seek the opinion of your doctor. It is necessary that you disclose any aspect of your medical or physical condition that could be considered to affect your safety and the the safety of others. You must not fly if you are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

We welcome the participation of disabled people in our experiences, though we recognise that to participate in some activities certain disabilities may present greater difficulties than others. To ensure that customers with disabilities are given every opportunity to participate, we require that you tell us about any disability or medical condition, even if you do not consider that it is a disability. This enables us to do our utmost to meet any participant's needs wherever possible and we can provide information on the disabled facilities available at specific venues upon request. In general terms many aspects of the Zeppelin Tours do entail some walking, but nothing too excessive.

DZR inform us that airship passengers must be able to walk a short distance independently, board the Zeppelin and sit in a regular seat. Otherwise unfortunately they have to exclude them from the flight for safety reasons.

Passports and visas
It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all passport and/or visa requirements for your journey. When you make your booking with us it indicates to us that you have met any passport and/or visa requirements. Some countries require that your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of return to the UK. Please note that the rules for children travelling on UK passports have changed and you should check with the UK Passport Agency for up-to-date advice. Links to the UK Passport Agency are provided on our website for your assistance.

We are unable to make any refunds if you are unable to travel because your passport is not valid. Holders of non-British passports should check the relevant passport and/or visa requirements with the appropriate consulates well in advance of their journey.

Supply of services and products
Please note that we provide accommodation, transport and other travel services from a range of providers including hotels, coach and railway companies. The provision of such travel arrangements will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of each supplier as part of your Conditions of Contract with us.

Pricing Policy
The price of your travel arrangements can be varied due to changes in transportation costs such as fuel, scheduled fares and other surcharges, Government action such as increases in VAT or any other Government imposed increases such as airport duties, and currency exchange rates. If this means you have to pay more than 10 per cent of the price of your travel arrangements, you may cancel your travel arrangements and receive a full refund.

Bookings
Bookings for trips and/or Zeppelin flights may be made by telephone, online, by email or written correspondence and your order will be confirmed by email, fax or by post. You should check the order details and read the Terms and Conditions carefully.

Vouchers provide the opportunity to participate on any of our tours and/or Zeppelin flights and are valid for 12 months from the purchase date. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash.

Scheduled group tours
Individuals, couples and private parties, can join our regular scheduled tours at the individual price. Please note that a minimum number of people is needed for such tours to be viable, and in the event of a shortfall of numbers we reserve the right to cancel your booking. If this happens you will be offered an alternative. This may be another scheduled tour on a different day, or the opportunity to travel on your own. If these alternatives are not acceptable, you will be offered a refund.

If the Zeppelin is unable to fly
As with any flying machine the Zeppelin is dependent on the weather conditions and the airship will not fly in fog, heavy winds or thunderstorms. The operating company, Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei (DZR), has sole responsibility for all operational matters including cancelling flights due to either inclement weather or for technical or operational reasons. If your flight cannot go ahead we will endeavour to reschedule the flight during your stay in Friedrichshafen if at all possible.
In the unlikely event that your Zeppelin flight does not happen at all, then the part of your payment which covers the price of the Zeppelin flight itself will be refunded to you less a 5% administration fee. Refunds will not be made to any third party and are always made to the person who purchased the flight or tour. We cannot be held liable for any of the customer's costs of whatever nature that result from the cancellation of any flights.

If we change your booking
Arrangements for trips are often made many months in advance and changes are sometimes necessary. These may include flight times or accommodation. If a major change is necessary we will inform you as soon as we can.

All timings and itineraries are for your guidance and may be subject to change or delay. We cannot accept responsibility for costs or inconvenience as a result of alterations to itineraries beyond our control.

We reserve the right to change itineraries due to weather conditions, alterations to airline or other transport schedules, other operational reasons or reasons of force majeure including any event that we or the supplier of services in question could not reasonably foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include war or threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions, natural disaster, industrial dispute and fire.

If we cancel your booking
If flights and/or tours are suspended due to circumstances beyond our control we reserve the right to cancel your booking. In the event of this happening you will be offered an alternative trip or a full refund at our discretion. Refunds will not be made to any third party and are always made to the person who purchased the flight or tour.

We cannot be held liable for any of the customer's costs of whatever nature that result from the cancellation of any tour.

If you cancel or change your booking
If you cancel your booking your cancellation is only effective when received in writing from the person who made the booking. In order to cover our expenditure in processing your booking we will charge a cancellation fee which will vary depending on the time remaining before your scheduled departure and any loss of revenue that may have been incurred. If your cancellation incurs additional cancellation fees from our suppliers these will be passed on to you.
If you change your booking we will do our best to help. However in some circumstances this may incur rebooking fees with our suppliers and we reserve the right to recover any costs charged to us by our suppliers. If you change your booking within eight weeks of departure, we reserve the right to charge cancellation fees.

If you have a complaint
We accept responsibility for ensuring that your trip is supplied to you, as described on our websites and in our literature, to a reasonable standard. If you have a complaint about any aspect of your Zeppelin Tour, you must tell our representative at the time (together with the supplier of the services in question, where applicable) so that the matter can be resolved on the spot. If the matter cannot be resolved immediately then please make a written report and hand it to our representative. If you are still not satisfied on your return home you must write to us with full details within 28 days: Customer Service, Airship Initiatives Ltd, 104 Bearlands, Wotton-under-Edge, Glos GL12 7SB, United Kingdom. We undertake to deal with your complaint promptly and fairly, but we cannot accept liability of any claim of which we are not notified in accordance with this clause.

Smoking
It is not permitted to smoke on any airship or other means of transport during your tour. Failure to comply with this may result in penalties being brought against you. In addition, you shall be liable for any costs resulting from any disruption incurred by us as a result of you not complying with this requirement.

You are responsible for observing all rules and Government laws which apply in the country where you are travelling.

Special requests
Please advise us at the time of your booking if you have any special requirements relating to diet or health matters. We will do our best to meet your requirements, but please note that we are sometimes dependent on our suppliers.

Liabilities
We will not be liable for any loss or damage to equipment and effects brought with you on your trip or airship flight. No liability is accepted for any loss or damage to vehicles or contents.
